Johnny "J. Fred" Frederick Muller Jr.
J. Fred graduated from Texas A&M in 1953 with his degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then went on to serve in the US Air Force for two years. In 1955, he returned to Willis to join his father, Johnny, at L&M Lumber. He took control of the company when Johnny died. He was a talented proprietor and engineer. He built several custom machines as he manufactured different products. As his health declined throughout the years, he handed the business over to his son, Jay. J. Fred died August 31, 2011. |

Johnny "Jay" Frederick Muller III
Jay played football for Texas A&M as a starting defensive lineman. He helped lead them to three Cotton Bowl appearances and two Cotton Bowl titles. He graduated with a degree in finance in 1987. In 1991, he resigned from his position as a lending officer to join J. Fred at L&M Lumber. |
